BLOG ON TWITTER

On Twitter, users can only express themselves within 140 characters whereas on a blackboard discussion, the number of characters is unlimited. Thus if one user wants to write a lot, Twitter may not be the best place to do so. In this situation, the user should better post a link to a blog or something more appropriate for longer posts. However, Twitter allows people to give a synthetic view and so have a more efficient impact.

Twitter’s design is clearer than Blackboard’s because users can directly see who is in the discussion thanks to the @. People get notifications when someone interacts to their tweets and can stay up-to-date all day long on smartphones.
On Twitter, if an account is public, everyone can reply and comment an user’s post whereas with Blackboard or in-class discussions, only the class members are allowed to join the debate. Privacy is a differenciating factor.
One more time. Different platforms. Different functions. That’s why people usually have accounts on several social media platforms – because each one of them has a different function.

  1. As you stated at the end of your post “Different platforms. Different functions. That’s why people usually have accounts on several social media platforms” both platforms are totally different even if both are usually use to generate a conversation or a debate, the meaning of each debate or conversation using those different platforms it will be totally different.
